Q: What is a General Contractor?
A: General Contractor is one company that provides
professional design, management and building of a project. In
the traditional building process, the owner may hire an
architect to prepare detailed plans and specifications for
bidding by several different general contractors. With the
Zekkours approach, firm costs are established sooner by using
subcontractor bidding during the design phase before a
commitment is made to final drawings.
In the traditional approach, multiple parties are
involved, which effects information transferal. In Zekkours, the
designer and the builder are the same person allowing for direct,
accurate, and efficient communication.
Q: What are the advantages to using a General
Contractor?
A: Time, Money, and Direct Communication are three advantages to
using Zekkours. Zekkours projects provide design for a fraction of
the cost of architectural fees. The duration of project is shortened
because value engineering and subcontractor bidding takes place
during the design phase. In Zekkours, only one contract exists, one
team works on the project, and more importantly there is one
responsible party.
Q: How will I know how, where, and when to
make selections?
A: Zekkours Construction will meet with you at your convenience
to help you plan your project and discuss various treatments and
selections.
Q. Will we be able to live in our home during
construction?
A: In most instances, yes. we protect, inspect, and clean daily.
Zekkours Construction will discuss each phase of construction with
you in detail prior to beginning that phase, and we will take pains
to minimize any disruption of your routines caused by the
construction.
Q. What if we want to change something during construction?
A: We realize from experience that changes area part of the
construction process and therefore we will make every effort to
implement your changes as efficiently and cost effectively as
possible.
Q. We hear stories about cost overruns and
people having to come up with money for items they thought they were
paying for in the contract. How do we know that this will not happen
to us?
A: Zekkours Construction scrupulously research and budget every
phase of construction. This research is based upon carefully
discussing with you each amenity before the contract is written.
During this phase, we leave nothing to chance, we will make no
assumptions. If you are unsure as to a certain treatment, then we
will help you overcome the uncertainty.
Q. What about follow-up items? Will our busy
schedules be hampered by making arrangements to meet with
subcontractors after completion?
A: Zekkours Construction works hard to complete all details
BEFORE FINAL CLEAN. Upon completion we personally walk through
the project with you to list any items you may feel need our
attention. Our goal is to have every customer absolutely satisfied
with their purchase. We firmly believe that a contractor's best
